FOUR CHANNEL AUDIO, 60:36 MIN, VARIABLE DIMENSIONS
This project starts with a field recording carried out in a specific location. The microphone, situated in one single place, registered what happened in that spot during one hour. Then, it was played back from the inside of a container located in that specific place.
Designed to be heard from the outside, this installation generates a sort of mise en abyme perceived by the spilling of the enclosed reproduction of the soundscape within the same environment it refers to.
The realization of the same environment’s copy happens after the identification of those loudest and more predominant sounds which are easily recognizable and reappear again and again after the same time lapses.
This installation was made in January 2018 in The Sandberg Instituut’s outdoors, Amsterdam.
