Monsieur Pimpant – An Introduction to AI
This one-day workshop will include an introduction to generative AI, discussing open source and local running models. We’ll use ComfyUi to generate images, videos and 3D files, with various workflows, offering precision and flexibility. The day will begin with an artist talk, demonstrating how AI is used in the practice of Monsieur Pimpant, as an invisible but powerful tool in the production of his animated films, but also as an iterative research tool and as a medium in itself.
Monsieur Pimpant is a professor of animation at École de recherche graphique in Brussels, and founder of ERG TV and Pin?Pan!Production. For the past ten years he has worked closely with La “S” Grand Atelier, an art brut center hosting collaborations between artists with and without disabilities. His films have been shown in the Clermont-Ferrand IFF, Fantoche IFF, Anima Brussels, Kaboom Amsterdam, NY Indie Film Festival among others.
